A gorgeous Cabernet Franc dominant Bordeaux blend with 38% Cabernet Franc, followed by 29% Cabernet Savignon, 16% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and a splash of Malbec.

Our latest Super Saxy (believe it or not, this is our 4th offering of Super Saxy) is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (75%) from Kiona vineyards within the Red Mountain AVA, along with 10% Cabernet Franc (also from Red Mountain), 10% Merlot, and finished with a splash of 5% Petit Verdot. A gorgeous medium spice wine with big raspberry and cherry fruit up front along with hints of vanilla cream. As the wine opens, get ready for some blackberry fruit to make a showing. Tannins are mild now, so you can enjoy this wine immediately; but it will certainly age awhile if you want it to become a little softer over time.
Although you can pair this wine with any red meat dish, don't forget the less formal meals, such as serving it with your favorite pizza or pasta dish; and of course it will be the perfect match with any chocolate dessert. This wine is ready now…. so enjoy.
I love this wine, and my hope is you will as well. The Cabernet fruit for this wine all comes from Red Mountain, a tiny little area in the state of Washington, producing some of the best wines in the world. The fruit from this location can sometimes be hard to tame, but I think with the gentle handling of extraction, oak and extra time in bottle, I have achieved what I wanted to do. And that was to make a heck of a great Cabernet.
