2022 Merlot

Our 2022 Merlot is an equal blend of two vineyards this year. Half from Kiona within the Red Mountain AVA and the other from Weinbau within the Wahluke Slope AVA . To polish it off, a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon was blended to give the wine a little more brightness. This Merlot is certainly going to surprise you as it's quite spicy and much deeper and thicker than most of those wimpy merlots out there.  You might even mistake it for a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon if we didn't tell you it was nearly all Merlot. With a hint of light oak up front, this wine transitions almost immediately into a wine that fills your senses with multipe fruit nuances.  Wonderful hints of vanilla and light subtle tones of blackberry and cherry will have you savor the wine on your tongue longer than you might normally. Wow, this is a Merlot that you are going to want more of, and enjoy over time. I know some of you may say "ugh . . a Merlot", but our Merlots are always big and sell out quickly. This is the perfect wine to serve at your next blind tasting. No one will guess Merlot.
