Tasting notes
Nose: Dark fruit, cherries, blackberry.
If you like big, beautiful Bordeaux blends, this is the wine for you. Incredible aromatics of baking spices and violets, a full-bodied feel on the palate with bursts of black currant, plums, dark cherry, and a hint of tobacco. When you taste the wine, it bursts with dark fruit tannins and minerality.
Production notes
This is the wine I have always wanted to make! The 2019 Progeny has all the makings of a great Northwest Bordeaux blend with the ability to drink now but will also be cellar worthy for many years. The fruit comes from my favorite vineyards in the state and the varietals come together to make a perfect trio with Quintessence Cabernet singing lead. It has incredible structure and amazing aromatics. I love the nose! Fermented low and slow to preserve fruit, it spent eighteen months in new and once used French oak to give it broad shoulders, but also keep it voluptuous.
